Burke’s Shadows Reviews

Burke running down the road with a handgun as explosions go off in the background

Below is a small sampling of reviews –

Another great one in the series!: “The story starts with the Granddaughter, Yo-Yo, of the old Washington supposed Chinese spy, from previous stories, making contact with Bob Burke (Retired) from the US Army Delta Force. Acting on her deceased Grandfather’s advice, Yo-Yo has made contact because she has a BIG PROBLEM. And so, another wild ride is off and running, that draws Burke, his band of Merry Men and many of his high placed contacts into the situation. Previously unknown, Grandfather – Wei Jun as he was known, had a family in China before he came to the US years ago, to spy for the Chinese, and Yo-Yo has her father and two brothers confront her at the Golden Dragon restaurant. To say that she is unhappy about this situation does not indicate the problem! The father and her two brothers are brash, bullying and cocky and have taken two of the restaurant long time employees, into custody to the Chinese Embassy. They are in the US to take over the spying operation Yo-Yo supposedly runs for the Communists. So, Burke and the team become involved in a riveting story of espionage, and technical high jinks with Burke’s daughter Ellie and the team of Geeks. With assistance from a high placed contact in the FBI, and with the Chinese ambassador to the US approving, the team rescue the two employees from the Chinese Embassy, and the Geeks set out to compromise Yo-Yo’s father and brothers with great success! Then when one of Burke’s team members, Patsy Evans, is mistaken for Ellie and kidnapped, the Chinese find they should not have poked the bear!

A great read from start to finish with nonstop action and violence when required. Highly recommended as an exciting spell binding read.”

Loved it!: “I have read and loved every book in this series. It was fun to learn the beginning of Yo-Yo’s grandfather’s story and how he ended up owning the Golden Dragon restaurant and spy master. Evidently he had a son and two grandsons who were Yo-Yo’s father and brothers. There’s plenty of action that gets Burke and many of his contacts at different levels of government who are also his friends involved in helping and working with him to resolve the issues that Yo-Yo’s family created. There’s multiple different directions for the next book to go in. I wish Bill does not make us wait too long for the next Burke book.”
